have a older mastercraft ski boat and want info on it?
i have a 1985 mastercraft 17′ ski boat. it also says citation on it
i believe it came with a inline 4 inboard, but has since been converted to a chevy inline 6 murcruiser.
i googled the info i have and cannot find anything. not even any for sale,the model history,or the blue book value.
they have a pretty interesting history, but i cant find any info on my year and model.

the hull # is TCT20880E585
My books show that in 1985 Mastercraft only made 2 models, both where 19′. If you can give me the HIN (hull ID number), I will do a little research for you. The HIN is located on the starboard side of the transom, at the top. And yes, back in the day, Mastercraft where THE tournament ski boat!
Thanks for supplying the HIN. As it turns out, that number belongs to a boat built by Shelby boat works of Virgie, KY, in May, 1985. None of my reference books or online sources have any info on this company. I really don’t know what you have, but it’s not a Mastercraft. Sorry I couldn’t be more helpful.

Hey, I just figured this out! Your boat is a 1985 Thunder Craft (2 words) Citation 170, made by Shelby Boat works, and yes, it was originally powered by a 120 Mercruiser. I vaguely remember seeing these boats, and they do resemble a Mastercraft, only smaller. NADA Guide values this boat with a 165 at about $2200-2400. Hope this info helps.
